Public Announcement
The organising committee of Abuja Dialogue on Cybersecurity wishes to announce a postponement of the dialogue to the 3rd and 4th of September 2024. The event will hold at BON Elvis Hotel, 2 Monrovia Street Wuse 2.
This decision is as a result of the planned nationwide protest scheduled to hold from the 1st of August 2024. The confirmed program will hold in line with agreed themes. We take responsibility for this decision and regret any inconveniences or disruption that may be experienced by our partners and invitees who have already planned to attend the Dialogue. We thank you for your understanding, support and commitment to the efforts to keep Nigeria’s cyberspace and national infrastructure safe. We look forward to welcoming you to Abuja soon.

Join us for a critical summit on cyber security
The Abuja Dialogue on Cybersecurity is expected to bring together a diverse constellation of stakeholders, including policymakers, academia, investors, start-ups, practitioners, the private sector, civil society, and representatives of women, youth groups, and students. Through vibrant and inclusive discussions, thought-provoking panels, and interactive sessions, participants collectively explore partnerships and pathways to improved cybersecurity in the country. The dialogue will equip participants with tips on the proper measures to address cybersecurity gaps in their processes, people and technology infrastructure.

Niger Delta Hackathon
is an annual youth-led event that is proposed to target youths and students drawn from across the Niger Delta region. The event focuses on harnessing the productive talents of young people and channeling them productively through the power of technology. It seeks to foster collaboration and innovation by providing a platform for them to explore cutting-edge technologies and transform their ideas into projects that will solve the region’s teething problems.
Africa’s internet economy can reach $180 billion by 2025, accounting for 5.2% of the continent’s GDP. By 2050, the projected potential contribution could reach $712 billion, amounting to 8.5% of the continent’s GDP.
Cybercrime is one of the most pressing challenges plaguing economic activity in Africa. As the continent’s GDP reached $3.3 trillion in the past few years, the cost of cybercrime climbed to $3.5 billion, with Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa recording the highest losses.
